This is Who We Are
I think a first dance is a very important part of a wedding and shouldn’t be overlooked.
It is easy for a bride and groom to think that the first dance is just an embarrassing part of the wedding where everyone watches you swaying around the dance floor for two and a half minutes.
But it doesn’t have to be. There are lots of ways to make your first wedding dance much more interesting!
Choose a Funky Song
Most wedding guests are used to seeing the usual swaying around the floor to something like Everything I Do by Bryan Adams, Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith or Always by Bon Jovi.
You could spark your wedding dance up by using a song that’s special to you but isn’t a traditional wedding song.
Choosing a song which isn’t your normal, traditional wedding song might make you feel more relaxed and put you in more of a party mood after you’ve had a boogy!
Dance Lessons
To really give yourselves a bit of a confidence boost, you could have a few dance lessons!
Dance lesson prices vary on how many people are in your lesson, the type of dance teacher you have and the type of dance you’re learning.
Hubby and I had dance lessons for our song, and we felt much more confident for having the lessons.
We went with Zig Zag Dance Factory, based in Wolverhampton, and for most of our lessons we had Warren Bullock teaching us. He was lots of fun!
The dance lessons were something we could share together, something fun that helped us to relax during the stressful planning time.
Stand Out From the Crowd
Of course, you can be really different and go with something based on Judson Laipply’s Evolution of Dance, and Wedding Evolution of Dance (which has had over 85,000 views on You Tube!)
